e-Mountain Biking// Biking around Byzantine and Venetian monuments

We begin our adventure through the rural area of Paratrehos and soon enough we ride uphill Koskinas mountain. We follow the dirt trail over the green valley of Potamia that leads to agios Mamas (Theoskepasti). A Byzantine church dating from mid 10th century and considered to be the oldest church on Naxos.

After a short pause we continue down south and we end up at the chapel of Mary virgin of the cave (Spiliotisa). An impressive small chapel that is an actual cave! That’s the point for a longer pause, to explore, enjoy our snacks and stretch our legs!

This time we take the dirt trail direction to the North and we meet a sketchy rocky trail that leads to Marigoulas tower (Paleologos tower). An impressive building that is nested between the naxian land and has been built in 1699.

We stay on the dirt trail and take the  way back to Naxos town through Vivlos and Glinado villages.
